Dr. Dhiren Patel is the Director of VJTI, a position he has held since 2017. He is dedicated to strengthen the learning environment and research practices at VJTI.

Prior to VJTI, Dr. Patel was Pro-Vice Chancellor of University of Mumbai. He spent the majority of his career at NIT, Surat as Professor of Computer Engineering, teaching and conducting research in cloud computing, PKI and trust management, and blockchain.

Dr. Patel has been a visiting professor at University of Denver teaching Computer Security with a focus on proof of work and blockchain consensus machines. He was an adjunct and visiting professor of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar, contributing to building a new IIT in its formative years.

Dr. Patel obtained his B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from NIT, Surat. Subsequently he obtained his M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT, Kanpur. He obtained his PhD in Computer Engineering (Information Security) from NIT, Surat and NCST Mumbai with a research focus on development and analysis of techniques for secure information exchange over computer networks.

Dr. Rohin Daruwala has dedicated himself to VJTI with a long association that extends over 35 years, over which he has contributed to the institution immensely in many different roles.

Dr. Daruwala is the Dean of Student Activities and Alumni Affairs. Prior to that he was the Dean of Academic Programs and Member of the Board of Governors.

He continues his passion of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students as well providing valuable guidance to their project work. He also oversees the maintenance of the campus network and the central computing facility.

Dinanath Kholkar graduated from VJTI in 1989 with a BE in Electrical Engineering. He is currently Vice President and Global Head of Analytics & Insights at Tata Consultancy Services, and based in Pune, India.

Dinanath was invited to join the Board of Governors of VJTI since 2017 and has been actively leading and contributing towards various initiatives. He was an invited Chief Guest of the Convocation Ceremony in 2016. In 2018, he was nominated as the Industry Leader on the Board of Governors of VJTI.

Dinanath has led the fund raising and set up of the Center for studies and research in IoT (Internet of Things) in the Electrical Engineering department, as well as fund raising for the Auditorium renovation project.

Umesh Gupta graduated from VJTI in 1976 with a BE in Mechanical Engineering. Subsequently he completed his Masters in Production Engineering from VJTI in 1978.

Umesh is ex-Chairman of the VJTI Alumni Association in India since 2016, and provides leadership for various initiatives and objectives of the association.

Umesh Doshi graduated from VJTI in 1973 with a BE in Electrical Engineering. Subsequently he completed a PGDM in Financial and Marketing Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

Umesh is Vice Chairman of the VJTI Alumni Association in India since 2016 and leads various initiatives. He is CEO of Data Deal Corporation since 1980 specializing in infrastructure development and management consulting specializing in large land parcels, re-development of existing infrastructure and housing colonies.

Satish Kazi graduated from VJTI in 1959 with a BE in Electrical Engineering.

He is the founding chairman of the VJTI Alumni Association and served in that role until 2010.

Irfan Furniturewala graduated from VJTI in 1993 with a BE in Electronics Engineering. Subsequently he achieved his Masters of Science (MS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Iowa State University, and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

He serves as the Chair of the Membership Committee for the VJTI Alumni Association in India.

Irfan is based in Los Angeles where he is Portfolio Manager and Partner at the Capital Group. He is a passionate volunteer serving on the Board of Trustees of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association, the Mirman School, and "I Have a Dream" Los Angeles, a foundation dedicated to providing long-term support to youth living in under-resourced communities to help them reach their full potential.
